Finish Line

customized Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Boy

It's a statement

We do not interfere in the private lives of our customers. But once a bike is in the public space of the street, it always expresses something that the biker has to say about his life. It is a statement. And isn’t a bike called “Finish Line” a kind of parable for a man’s whole life? Goal achieved, you can afford something and everyone can see it. House, tree, children? We don’t know about this customer, and if we did, we wouldn’t tell you. But imagine if you were there: wouldn’t you want a bike like this from us? It expresses a final point, a climax, a real Thunderbike in our line.

A bike's face

The large format Big Speed disk on our Big Speed wheel is slowed down by a brake on our adapter

We start with the wheels, of course. We replace the original Fat Boy‘s 18-inch wheels with our Big Speed 23-inch front and 21-inch rear in a technoid design in a two-tone play of black and metallic sheen.

We make the wheels the face of the bike, the literal expression of greatness. The telescopic fork has been lowered to compensate for the significant increase in front wheel size, while maintaining a comfortable caster. Air Ride for the rear wheel provides a level of ride comfort that no one would expect from a lowered, stationary rear.

The above components are carefully matched. Up front we have the 340mm Big Speed disc, and our disc adapter ensures a clean bite even with this larger diameter. The front fender is made of GRP for easy handling, while the black powder-coated fork components create a homogeneous look.

The handcrafted Kodlin handlebars are big at the moment, but it was our conversion to a hydraulic clutch and our Stripe turn signals, which disappear under the handlebars, that gave it its clean lines. We powder-coated the ring of the headlight mask along with some other components in a matte gold tone.

Saddle with golden stitching

At the rear, we have placed our steel fender close to the tires, tailored to a width of 260 millimeters. Thanks to LED technology, the turn signals and rear lights are integrated into the fender. Our disc brake with Speedstar pulley and our side mount license with inside plate add to the clean look of the rear. The saddle on the steel seat shell, discreetly quilted with gold stitching, attracts attention and makes you want to take a closer look. Our custombike rack can be attached to the two pairs of bolts between the saddle and frame crescent in just a few simple steps.

The Stripe indicators disappear under the Kodlin handlebar fittings

The cable of the hydraulic clutch is hidden in the handlebar

The sparing but unerring use of gold tones can be found on the end caps of the Jekill and Hyde system. We adapted the manifolds accordingly. We also take care of the registration of the drilled power filter, which means that a biker who has made it will be able to glide through any traffic stop casually, legally, and yet unmistakably. Small details like our New Custom ignition cover, glassless mirrors from Motogadget and Empire running boards from Harley-Davidson Accessories add the finishing touches.

Clean up the rear with a side license plate holder and hidden disc brake

Taillights disappear into our steel fender. Gerd de Kock’s checkered flag shines all the brighter

Here comes the audience

Finally, the eye can rest on Gerd de Kock’s paintwork. It is not just black. It shows the motif of the chequered flag that is waved at the finish line. So this is what it can look like when a man has made it, when a goal has been reached and all that is missing is an audience to cheer him on. And when a Thunderbike is on the road, the audience comes all by itself.
